First Aid Training is an important part of our syllabus and is mandatory for all our staff and cadets. It is partly for being a responsible organisation in equipping our personnel with vital skills and knowledge to be good citizens, but equally the need to equip people with skills that can be used when things go wrong.
All cadets and staff are required to undertake First Aid Training as part of their ongoing development. All new starters undertake the British Heart Foundations Heart Start award, a 2 hour introduction into Emergency Life Support. Within 18 months all cadets undertake the St John Ambulance Youth First Aid course.
First Aid Training is an essential skill and works towards the aim of providing skills of good citizenship and given the nature of the activities we undertake, it is essential that all our staff and cadets have the vital skills to deal with an emergency.
